Stormy Breckenridge Video

Today was snowstorm-ish in Breckenridge. We hiked rails for 5 hours straight anyways. There was so many people standing in line for the lifts, so we rather walked. This is a small compilation of some of the rail-moves that went down today.

Enjoy!

Breckenridge rail-edit With a few more skiers

Snowy day at Breck today. Got up early to shred fresh groomed park, and no people. 9.15 AM. Stoked, sick and so much fun! A lot of skiers and boarders stood lined up ready to drop in all the time, and so many sick tricks were thrown down. Fabio impressed me big time with his sw 270 on - pretzel switch up - pretzel 450 out. Check the good time edit, enjoy!

Us day_2 - Breck rail session

Went to Breck today, 20 minutes instead of 40 with bus, and less hiking and much more funny rails. And yeah, today was thanksgiving and of course we forgot to run to the store in time. I ended up with buying a frozen burrito from a gas station.. and water.. what a thanksgiving!

First day in Keystone park

So today was the first day of skiing in Keystone, Colorado. 20 features, a stair-set and a 35 ft jump. It was sunny, and super sick skiing were thrown down. Bobby Brown, Ahmet Dadali, Matt Walker, and many many others were killing it. The Americans are really shaped up these days, and it's really cool to ski good park before Christmas.

The longest day of my life

Today was time to go to USA for skiing. This pretty much sum up my last 24 hours:

03:50 - Woke up at Oslo Gardermoen.
06:35 - My and Paal Andre Lund's flight to Frankfurt.
09:45 - Got to Franfurt, 4 hours of waiting till next flight.
12:55 - The longest flight of my life started.
23:45 - Finally after boring myself to death, and after a unknown numbers of tries to confess something to the videoblog camera, mostly that this was the longest trip of my life. And that I regretted the whole thing... baaah

01:15 - Tricked a private driver from Colorado Mountain Express to let us ride for 85 $ each, though flat rate was 110 $.. The good old please please please, let us ride trick worked! He got pissed. He also didn't first answer my "how do you like the new president" question.

03:15 - Finally arrived our hotel, at Alpine Inn.
05:42 - Typing down a few words to have something on my blog.. so so so tired right now. We also forgot a whole bag of things on Wal-Mart. That's how tired we are.

Juvass shoot turned out to be a road trip?

Went to Lom last night with Lasse Nyhaugen. A three hour drive from Lillehammer. We arrived to a warm house, owned by some olderly people on a farm. Very kozy, but freezingly -20 degrees outside. Me and Lasse made a superfunny radioshow while waiting for Fredrik the filmer, and Aleksander Aurdal to come from Stockholm winter jam. And after a while, them plus the producer and Thomas Dølplads showed up, and we fooled around til late before we had some sleep. 7 o'clock sharp was up from bed, and plan was to drive å snowmobile up to juvass and shoot bc kicker. It turned out there was not enough snow, and we ended up driving another 3 hours to Bjorli, next to Dombås. That was THE MOST gnarly thing i've seen all month. 1,5 meters of snow and still dropping. So sick skiing real powder and drop from small cliffs.

Kim, Lasse and Aleksander. Look at all the snow!

Since I needed shots to the movie Frostrøyk (www.key-films.com), we built a flat kicker out of a 3-4 meter high cliff. I got at most 2 shots today, but it was okey. Cause I just HAD to go before the rest of the guys.

I got my cold ass into the car and drove another 3 hours back to Lillehammer to have a quick dinner, before repacking my stash after only 3o minutes, and head to the train-station. Off to Oslo Gardermoen. Now I am at a fancy hotel down here, and in fours hours i'm probably awake, ready to jump on the plain to Denver, Colorado. The greatest country in the world!

Check back on Wedensday for action-photos and words from Keystone a-51 Terrain park.

Fixing skis and getting ready for Juvass

Today I shredded Hafjell for three hours, hiked a rail with 270 pretzel 270 both directions, and switched direction everytime I made it. Pretty fun.

On my way back home from Hafjell, this was what I saw. Kind of fancy light. Pink-ish.. Yeah.

Back home I had a very nice dinner, and sat down with a monster, chillin to the finals of King of Style in Stockholm. So sick riding!! Congrats to pk that won!

1. Pk Hunder
2.Jon Olsson
3. Phil Casabon

Before I can go to Juvass to shoot BackCountry, and to Keystone and hit rails, I had to make sure my bindings and skis were okay. A little service had to be done.

And now I am all packed up and ready to go. Lasse Nyhaugen from Get Lucky and I will drive up to Lom tomorrow, and on Monday it's time to capture some shots.

Also, check out this insane railvideo with some friends.

Tired, but stoked!

Just got back to Lillehammer after 400 km of driving. Kind of tired right now, but I had to take care of things. Thanks for comments on my edit. More to come the following weeks in the US!
I've been to Sälen, Sweden today in meetings with Monster Energy, and now it's official. Presenting my new sponsor. MONSTER ENERGY

Smooth!

As some of you might know I am a great fan of fancy cars. And this monster truck just blew my mind! Sooo cool. With huge rims too! Here with Patrik and Lasse.

Another view of the super-fancy H2 Hummer. Soo stoked on this car!

I am really tired after this days driving, and wish Kim boberg and Ole Mustad good luck in King of Style!! Bring it home!!

I have a lot to do this weekend, gotta sleep. see ya!

Killing session

So, Today I thought I could try to set my experience on a test. For three weeks more or less, I have been railing in Lillehammer rail park. Hiking houndrads of times to set tricks together. I had half-an-hour with tape on my camera, and I wanted to do all possible tricks I could do in shortest time possible. This is only a very slippery pipe that we are hitting, but still so much fun, and not the easiest catch. So this is a little edit I wanted to do, probably the last before I'm heading over the atlantic sea. It's killing time, Enjoy!

My favorite trick!

Sooo, I am kind of bored right now cause I haven't been out skiing YET, today. And there is way to much to be thinking off before the film shoot and the US trip.
But I've just tested out vimeo, and it seems to be working out quite well. Stoked. And I have just realized that my favorite rail trick right now is something beeing called KFed (don't ask why..) It is just so much fun while doing it, and yet, kind of easy! Check it out, from whistler 2008, April.

Rail day number I DON'T KNOW...

Today was one of many railpark days.. number of hits so far are unknown, and number of perfect hits are getting more and more, which is good! First days I could count on one hand how many good hits I've had. NTG was there too, and Kim kong aka Kim Boberg did a sick ass hardway 270 , and sw 270 hard way on the 30 ft downrail. Props. So many sick single tricks were made.
I brought with me a boy named Didrik today, he impressed me. Cool kid. Props!

Tomorrow I do not know what I do yet, probably rails again.. Gotta learn blind sw-up pretzel 270.. Things are getting way to technical on this blog now, I know. I'm just thinking out loud here..

Thursday's gonna be hard.. A total of 400 km are yet to be driven, and meetings are yet to be done. Sponsor meetings and planning. Sunday and monday is skiing only. Heading over to Juvass for some BC shooting with Key Films, and I'll have to be back in Lillehammer before 7. My train leaves at 20:00. Then oslo, and finally Tueday, Oslo-Frankfurt-Denver. And THEN the Us for skiing!! Finally. My big dream!

Tired right now, but in a good way.. Need a cup of coffee.

Yesterdays railsession

12:00 Yesterday me and pk went up to even sigstads railpark in Lillehammer, to again conquer our (mine) fears of handrails. We kept it going fo a hour, but both of us were kind of slack and didn't manage to do anything cool.. We called it a day, and went for lunch. We were told, that Nikkers had the bst lunch i the whole town, something called Chicken bobboli. I thought the name was giggolo and pk's interpretation was nothing less than bibbolo.. so noone of us knew what we were supposed to eat, or order. haha. It was okey though.

14:00 We caught up with NTG newschools trampoline session in Håkonshall later on, for some back and stomach flip action.. YEAH

18:00. Got a message from Even Sigstad, if I cared to join them for a railsession with lights and all that jazzzz... Couldn't say no. Glad I didn't. It was my session of the year, shredding rails like I had no fear (eventhough i'm scared to shit by single-piped handrails.. blaah). Wish all my days was like this.. had a bounch of 270 tries, sw lip tries, front swup blind 270 off, front swup pretzel 270 off.. It was awesome. Even was giving up on his trick, and told me he went up to try a different one.. Guess which?? HARDWAY 270 ON THE DOUBLE KINKED HANDRAIL.. shiat

Today is Tuesday, and me and some kids are hitting the rails again. You gotta keep on trying if you wanna be the best.. that's how it is..

keep trackin' steffen

Hafjell opening day, superduperstoked

Today I woke up at 6.00 A.M. It was very very early, and I rushed out to Hafjell to help the parkranger to set up some rails. This was the opening day with a big O. Sunny and bluebird, with the fog down in the walley. Pretty epic!

After getting my FREE skipass (thank you Hafjell), I got up and shredded the rails. It was really really cool. I probably had like 100 hits on the flatboks at the end of the day, and had to call it a day nearly 3.00 P.M due to cramps in my legs and upper body, haha. A day with hiking can really get your tricks come to you like children after candy. What can I say, after yesterdays totally misserable night of skiing, I really needed todays ups. Learned a couple of tricks today; sw 2 - pretzel 2 / right 270 - 360 swup - 270 out /

Left 270 pretzl-swup-450 off. And a lot of cool stuff that I definately didn't manage to do yesterday, when I needed it the most.. Blaah.. All right, I need coffe or monster, cause I'm getting sleepy after todays business.. A lot of people visited hafjell today, really many. It was like 20 people in a line-up ever single run.
Going to hang out at kims place today, kick his ass and tell him that he suck writing english.

VERY early morning digging.

Hafjell opening day Saturday!

Tomorrow (saturday) Hafjell ski resort will open, and it will actually have two rails and a 6 m jump for the skiers and snowboarders. And that is awesome to be a Norwegian resort, in NOVEMBER!

Cant wait to be there. Only thing is that I have to wake up at 6.00 am to help the parkranger out, to set up the rails. Stoked!

Peace

New Goggles!!

Stoooked right now. Just received my goggle setup for this winter. Also I got two pairs of sunglasses. All from SHRED OPTICS by Ted Ligety. They have such fresh colors and perfect shape. For a skier these goggles are perfect. A snowboarder need to see well sideways. But a skier will fin problems using theese kind of goggles. You see, a skier must see all ways. Sideways while spinning, and up and down while skiing foreward (it all depends on what your useage is like).

Theese are the Ted Ligety's pro model shades. They come in more colors. Check out www.shred.no or www.shredoptics.com

The OC Frame's are one of the coolest sunglasses I have wore in whole my life. I don't use shades and sunglasses alot, but I will be thinking closesly over it, before I leave theese little babies at home! The top notch. Shred NAstify Redux Green. It comes in all the fancy colors you want (almost), and they all rock. Wich I had clothes to match ALL these goggles. They are so cool. Be sure to check them out on www.shred.no

Gotta go, I have 35 Norwegian miles to drive, and a railcomp. to reach. And tomorrow I am helping out the park ranger in Hafjell to get things ready with a few rails on the opening da of Hafjell!! Getting stoked! Be sure to watch www.steffenhamre.com once in a while!!!

BOya!

Pk is back

Went up to the railpark at stampa 12:30 today, after waiting half-an hour for pk, which isn't the quickest guy in the game, but he sure is good at skiing. We got some more snow, and shuffled the inrun and landing before it was good to go. I think we where there three hours, and you should not be to surpriced if we put up a new film-edit some day! It was a fun day for sure, with a lot of learning and a lot of competing. The good-old S-K-I- competition is awesome just by the way. The same thing as S-K-A-T-E competitions. One guy does a trick, and the next guy tries to do the same. If he can't stand up the guy before him, he get's a letter. First S, then K, then I. First guy finishing a complete choosen letter, looses. I my case today, i lost three times... in a row.. Damn. But to look at the bright side, I learned a couple of tricks and gave pk ONE letter ONE time.. I can live with that. Hehe. Now i'm all tired, resting up before tomorrow. Probably throwing down a new session with pk tomorrow, before driving up in the mountain to my girlfriend's lodge. Chilling in front of the fire, that's perfect for relaxing.

Random shots from today's action:

First trip, finally get to do what I want.

Sunday:

Packed my car up yesterday and drove the 5 hours straight to Lillehammer from Hommelvik. It really surprised me that in a small country like Norway, you actually get to travel a month in time, only by driving 5 hours with a car. Cause in Lillehammer it was cold as the north-pole, and snow lied like a carpet all around. I got a sudden feeling that I have slept for a month, and woke up at Christmas. I see why some tourists think Norway is the most beautiful country they have seen, because of the scenery when the weather Gods are playing their cards right.

Dovremountain at daytime, and me behind the wheel.Dombås, look there's snow outside.. Like a kid on christmas eve. If you look closely, you can see the skiresort of Dombås just underneath the cloud in the midle of the picture. The rumors has it, that they have buildt a sick ass park this year, wait and see!

Finally got to Lillehammer at 5:30 PM, said hello to my girlfriend, and her family. We had some dinner and watched tv, just chill. It's good to have some time off from work and filled-up sqeduals.

Monday:

Woke up and got dressed, gave Ida a ride to work at the hospital and headed up to my old School. NTG, where I learned to ski. Felt that I had to give some knuckles and high fives and talk with my old pals up there, supernice guys actually, live to ski and ski to live. That's how we do it right?

It was time for a little railsession at Stampa, the railpark, but with the rainy weather and all I didn't quite feel like spending the day down there getting all soaking wet. I called it a day after only 45 minutes of skiing, and it didn't give me much of a good feeling, just felt bad after it. It's forecasted colder until tomorrow, and Pk's probably joining me for a session at the railpark. It's probably gonna get better tomorrow. Skeikampen and Kvitfjell resort has opened one slope each, for skiing only, no parks yet, and Hafjell's opening on Saturday as well, so I'm waiting and see what happends until then.
Have to make som phonecalls and get some things straighten-up, see ya.

Skiing tomorrow.
