Dovre

I have established a friendship with DOVRE clothing this winter. Wich means
I get to use their fantastic underwear. I hate getting cold when I'm skiing,
I don't think that would be any of my concerns this winter.

In December 08, I was skiing Breckenridge with Anders Backe and Paal Andre lund.
It was snowstorm, and -27 centigrades. I had a shitty thin layer underneath my
techpants and skijacket. From that day I was not planning to freeze while skiing again.

It is my last month of working before I get to ski every day. And I bought
this twin-halogen lamp at work. Why? Because now, I get to hit rails all night after work!
SO stoked after yesterdays session at Stampa (Railpark in Lillehammer). The young kids
were kicking my ass, but I had so much fun, and SO much to learn!

Leaving you guys for now, Ski you soon!

Home

Finally home, and it feels good! Long trip, and just a few more
days of work before Hafjell opens!

And to you with ip adress 217.199.54.130 from Trondheim, Norway who allways write the
most fun comments
everytime I get to do something fun. The fact that you are actually following my blog
and reading most of my posts, equals the same to me as YOU DO care what I do.
It doesn't mean much to me really, just wanted you to know that. But the fact that
you are taking your time from your job, with your job-computer, or your
school-computer from Sør-Trøndelag fylkeskommune, only proof that you
are jealus and hate your education or job...

But I appreciate you taking some time off every now and then to check my blog. I appreciate that.

Thanks.

Have a good night.

Geneva

Today I woke up and had breakfast. Me and Gaute stroled by the
Ferrari shop once more, and on our way back we saw this little devil
in disguise!! Bmw 740 LI. This one right here does not slow down the traffic!

Pretty stressful to carry around this much luggage, but it has to be done
if you want to go skiing. Right now I am at Geneva airport waiting for my
flight at 1.10 pm.

I cannot wait to hit streetrails in Lillehammer. Fall is all about skiing urban.

From Mountainlife to citylife

Today was a long day going from one inviroment to a another.
Kim, Lasse and me posing it out on the glacier of Saas-Fee today
Beautiful weather, and the last day of skiing here. It's been nice 10
days, but the time has just flown away!

I hurted my shoulder yesterday, and didn't think I was able to ski today.
I took the chance, and went up the gondola to the top. The pain was gone..

I tried to smooth over my tricks by not spinning to much today, but I ended up
sessioning the last hours with sw 10's and double cork 10's. The double 10 was not
perfect, but I will work on it till it's perfect!

The mountains underneath the beautiful weather today was a
really nice view!

Audun wasn't to happy with beein let out on the group-
photo... Touche!

Last day of skiing went fast, and all of a sudden we were packed
to go, and on a bus to Geneva city. I have never stayed in Geneva,
but flown here a lot. I celebrated the good day with my book. So
exciting!

Geneva city, the hotel. A messed-up chaos to
say the least. 33 skiers with 1 bag and 1 boardbag each.
The lobby looked like a war-zone to me..

I typed a new facebook status as soon as we got to the hotel:
"20 metres away from a Ferrari shop" I wasn't joking. This
was really a cool thing for me. You see, I like cars a lot.
Ferraris aren't exactly a everyday-view in Norway! Me and
Lasse enjoying the nice view.

What's the name of this one? Really cool though.

Had to get something to eat. Went for a true italian restaurant
a few blocks away. Best oven-baked pizza ever!

Really tired after a long day right now. Sharing bed with Gaute,
who hit his head hard on a foreward 10 today. Messed-up pains.
Gotta get some sleep before flying back to Oslo, and eventually
Lillehammer tomorrow.

Coverboy

Found THIS on the internet right now. A friend told me I was on the front page of the largest newspaper online in Norway. I answered him.. yeah, cool. Like I was there for real.. psss, hah!

It turned out to be true actually. Not everyday you get be coverboy.

Extremely frustrating ups and downs

Sjur was superstoked to ski in bluebird and new snow today!

I was superstoked as well, but my day didn't work the
way I wanted to. I missed out on every switch-hit I had
all day, and really couldn't figure out what I did wrong.
My body was tired the first half of the day, and nothing seemed
to work. That's what you get when you ski every day, and no break.

For my defence, this trip was all about skiing every day, just to get
things going for the upcomming season.

On the top of the last gondola it is pretty high above sea-level.

Or, I wasn't quite clear on the whole gondola thing.
Actually the last transport-stretch is a train. 3500 metres
above sea level, which makes it the highest running train in a tunnel,
in the world?

Since our pizza experience yesterday was a big flop, we decided to
give some other restaurant a try. It turned out to be a great idea!

Well known for their making of pizzas, Switzerland came back
strong in the pizza comeback!

My body is beat, last day of skiing tomorrow. Got to give it some rest.

Morning lecture

At 7.15 this morning, someone in my room whos name shall
not be mentioned (Vegard), made me wake up super-early
from his snoring.

I had breakfast all by myself, nobody there of course.

I fired up the skimovie Refresh for the 100th time this week,
and watched mr Harlat aka e'dollo do every possible trick
in the book, with such style and force that it is insane.
I get so fired up by watching it, and I am so ready to ski right now!

Looks sunny, stoked!

Rapid change of weather situation in the alps!

When I woke up this morning, more than half of the gang
down here had their day off. Since I have payed my money
to ski, that's what I had in mind! 20 km/h wasn't going to
stop me from skiing.

Ketz aka "Dj Ketz" and I shredded the foggy
park with small shots of sun every now and then.
It got a little hard to see in the end, but I allmost put
my feet down on a sw 10. I got the hat of my hoodie
over my head, and had to guess where the landing was.
Tomorrow I will have it, I promise!

Decided to hit a pizza-restaurant for once, which turned out
NOT to be a great idea. Henrik and Sjur after 1 hour of waiting!

Kim, Lasse and Joachim aka "birdman" also waited a long
time, even before the waitress showed up by our table.

Afterwords we got told that they where fresh out of pizza buns,
( even at happyhour), we got a half-price deal for pasta instead.

Great idea? No.

Half-hour later we got a big pan of spaghetti and a big pan of meat
all for sharing. It didn't even cover half the plates that were put out,
and only some of us got to eat. It was cold when we got it. And even after
another 30 minutes without food, I walked away telling the waitress that
this was inappropriate, and I asked her if I could pay for my drink. She told me to
just go. And that's what I am telling you NOT to: Don't go there - EVER!

Cloudy

Just had breakfast, and the weather looks cloudy. My neck is stiff,
and I cannot say that I am awake yet. I hope we get over the clouds and see
the sunshine. I had some good news yesterday while surfing the intermenet..

Hafjell (my nearest resort), is opening the 7th of November. 13 days earlier than the
first planned date. And the have got a new park-manager straight from Whistler!!

I hope this is going to be a good pre-season!

Off to ski, I will try to shoot some follows.

Ice-Age

Today was yet another day at the mountain with bluebird and
rock-solid ice-age looking slopes. Allthough it wasn't as hard as yesterday,
which is good I suppose.

I still try to gather my skills from last years season, but it takes some time.
I haven't got any banger shots yet, but I rather practice untill I get it clean before
any video is uploaded!

One thing came across my head today. Every year I have been skiing, food has
been an issue. I love food, and I love taking time to eat it well. But while you ski
it is something you don't have time for. After two hours of skiing, getting warm
and ready for sick tricks, the last thing you want is a 20 minutes lunch-break and
get cold again!

TN.no has the most genious invention! It is basically a small portion-bag of powder
that you mix into water, and it is a full-worthy meal. It takes less than 3 minutes to
drink, and then you ar off to ski again! And the best thing is; You don't feel like crap
after eating/drinking it.

Skiing is a technical sport. All details counts for something, and every detail must be
included to do things perfect. These details are easy to forget when finishing skiing
after a season. I like the sport because of that, and that you can learn new stuff everyday.
But to be honest; It's hard!! I wish tricks could come to me easier. But the feeling of having
the skis on every day, and feel that the season is on is just amazing!

Filmtip of the day: Level1's Refresh... Henrik Harlaut is the best skier in zhe world.. period

Crash-test dummies

Nothing much to say really. Today I felt like a crash-
test dummy. No edges on my skis, bindings had a hard time,
and the same with me. Allmost had a sw 10 rev tail in the end,
but I crashed bad and lost both my skis. I called it a day!

Really cold today though. -15 minus centigrades! If you look
up in the mountain-side you can see the end of an avalanche!
Cool sight!

Frido cannot tell you how stoked he is to be on my
blog. Why shouldn't I let him be? Comming straight
from Zurich and Berlin with sick skiing. Props!

I can't get enough of the scenery in the Swiss mountains.

I brought my skis down in the village to switch
them with a brand new pair. Fresh edges and
new bindings. And also, I like my new outfit
from Salomons 2010 collection of outerwear.

Dinner-time! Allways curious to see what we get to be
served every night. Could be everything from Pie to mushrooms.
Ish..

Elvis needs to be held back sometimes, putting his feet down
on the illest kangarooflip on ice today! Speechless!

Me on the other hand, had an hard time just keeping my
body on the skis, and not crashing.

Tomorrow is going to be interesting, hopefully I get to put MY
feet down on a double 10 or switch 10?

Look out for videos!

Glacier happyness!

We did get to ski yesterday, but the wireless connection
down here is killing me. First sight outside the last gon-
dola. Jens is looking happy!

The park looked great! Eventhough it was slightly steeper
than Zermatt. The snow was rock solid, and I do know it
looks soft, but that was not a problem we had. Ice it is!!
Three jumps in a line, and the last one is pretty huge.
Good for doubles, Gaute did a double 12 before I even
had started up my switch 5 machinery!

Paal Gulliksen, NTG coach in the green puffy. Looking for
stompage.. to ice

The scenery is never a complainting factor up here. Just
look how mighty fine the mountains are! The weather was
awesome, but the thin air was killing me. I had probably like
4 litres of water yesterday!

Check out the stoked dude on the picture!
Or to be honest I was a little bit scared to fall
and die on my first day of skiing. We are talking
airs on 6-7 metres above the knuckle. Not pimp
to crash on ice!

Gotta eat some breakfast. My goal of today is
Switch 10 reversed tailgrab and maybe some cork 7s and 540s

Physical attempts

Today was the same as yesterday, NO SKIING. It sucks.
But I have decided to stay calm and just let it flow, just try
to have fun with all I do. Nothing to be sad or angry for, people
elsewhere allways suffer more than I do. But this is what
it looks like when skiers don't ski and have nothing else on the plan.

We did get to play soccer though! I used to be a goal-
keeper back in the days, but I have no feeling what so ever
when a ball gets near my feet. People today surely can and
probably would sign on that one. But I had fun, and I got
to kick Faw's head with the ball. Thank you Faw.

Mikkel, Elvis and Gaute in the game. Elvis got the most
scored goals of today, and he really kicked it. NICE!

Well. You have all seen a skier slack of, and you will
probably see it a lot more. But the fact is, to be a great skier
today, you need some basic-physics done, and get strong enough
to take the hits skiing throws at you. The excersise we had today
was rough. My stomach hurts, but in a good way. This picture
shows nothing but pure evil, and pain. But in the end it's prob-
ably worth it.

Me after the excersise. I tried my best, but I need to run
more, my breath was killing me.

I have been trying to improve the layout on my blog lately,
hard to make up my mind really.

Bad news - day 2

Set the alarm for 06.45 this morning, which is the earliest I have put it on for weeks. Woke up, got first to the breakfast and made an awesome omelette. What did that HELP?!

Park is closed for the second day in a row, and even though it is bluebird outside and not nearby as windy as yesterday! I went for a walk in the village to get to know it better, and bought some water in case the park opens!

Guess it's back to a few more episodes of scrubs again.

So long

First day off in the alps - in pictures

This is what it looks like when some of the best skiers in Norway travel down Europe to ski in the alps, and the park is closed due to storm. Geeks!!

Reminds me of Zermatt a lot! Really cozy alp-village.

This might be a sight for any persons dreams, to release the kid inside yourself and climb anything you see, just like when you were a kid. Vegard, on the other hand... lives out every single one of his dreams, every day!

Regular cars aren't allowed inside Saas-fee village. Each person with something to show for him/herself get's to buy a car. It costs 56 000 Euros for one of these!! Geez, could have bought a splendid Audi with a large enginge for that sum!

No the best day when it comes to weather situation. Especially not for skiing!

Pasta with meatsauce for lunch. Nice!

In the basement inbetween a garage and a sauna, I found this small gym. Me and Vegard sessioned for half-an hour. Gotta do something when you can't ski!

I'm off to play football, c ya!

wow.

This week is going to be all about Me and Vegard, since we are basically living together ALL week.
Well, here you go..

A journey to the first snow

Yesterday was a long day, but I have got used to it. Jump on a train for two hours to Oslo. Check in at the airport and wait a few hours, three hours in the air, and finally three hours with a tour-bus.

On the way from Geneva to Saas-fee we stopped for food. Here represented by Lars-Håkon and Gabz. Since I am travveling with my old school and ski gymnasium, NTG from Lillehammer. A crew of 25 young talented skiers are about to enter Saas-Fee to kill their park.

I am not to much of a junk-food kind of guy, so this was my suggestion for a meal. Business lunch as mention on the lid. haha.

Asbjørn "Assa" is one of the coaches in this group, cool guy.

I bought a book for fun at Oslo Airport. It turned out to be a little more exciting than first expected. Down 200 pages in just 5 hours, I think that is a record for me!

We arrived Saas-Fee just past midnight and didn't get to sleep before 1.30 AM... Which sucks when you have to get up at 7.00 AM for breakfast. It turned out to be STORM at the glacier (Snow Park), and it is windy as hell outside. I'm sharing room with Vegard Øye, earlier seen in movies such as THIS ONE. (www.steffenhamre.com is not responsible for any content in any other sites.)

Right now I have to sit here and watch the rain! Pray for sun and pray for sick tricks!
